Importing data from CSV or Excel files is rarely straightforward. Two issues show up almost every time. First, you need to match the incoming columns with the fields in your system, which can take time if the headers don’t match exactly. Second, the data itself often needs cleaning or reshaping before it can be imported without errors.
At importOK, we’ve always been focused on making importing as seamless as possible. Today, we’re taking that mission a step further with two new AI-powered features designed to remove even more of the manual work from your data imports: Automated Mapping with AI and AI Bulk Transformation.
For the next month, both are completely free for all new and existing customers.
Automated Mapping with AI
Field mapping is often the first hurdle when importing data. Different sources use different naming conventions, and manually aligning columns can be tedious and error-prone. With Automated Mapping, importOK now examines the headers in your file and suggests the best matches for your system’s fields. Instead of relying on exact text matches, it understands context and common variations, so “Customer Surname” aligns to “Last Name,” “e-mail” becomes “Email,” and “Signup Date” maps to “Created At.”
This makes a noticeable difference if you regularly receive files from external partners with inconsistent formatting, if you manage imports at scale and want to cut down on setup time, or if you need more reliable mappings for recurring imports without maintaining static templates. By offloading this work to AI, imports start faster and require fewer corrections down the line.
AI Bulk Transformation
Once columns are mapped correctly, the next challenge is the data itself. Dates may appear in different formats, names are often stored as a single string, country names vary from file to file, and invalid entries inevitably slip through. AI Bulk Transformation addresses these issues by letting you describe the transformation you need in plain language. importOK then applies the change across your dataset.
You might split a full name like “John Doe” into first and last name fields, convert a date such as “12/08/25” into an ISO-compliant “2025-08-12,” normalize country values so that “U.S.,” “USA,” and “United States of America” all resolve to “United States,” or clean up rows containing invalid email addresses. It can even be used to bring consistency to job titles, product categories, or any other field where variations can cause problems later. Instead of relying on ad hoc Excel formulas, one-off Python scripts, or hours of manual correction, you can achieve the same result in minutes.
Try our AI features now!
Both Automated Mapping and AI Bulk Transformation are available today in importOK. To encourage teams to try them out, these features are free for all new and existing customers who sign up within the next month. Each account includes a one-month trial with full access.
If your role involves preparing and importing external files, these features should help you cut down on repetitive work and give you a faster path to clean, usable data.
